Teco is the youngest member of the bonobo family at the Iowa Primate Learning Sanctuary. He was born June 1, 2010 in Des Moines, Iowa, and is the son of Kanzi and Elikya. Teco lives at Bonobo Hope with his family of six other bonobos. His favorite foods are grapes, bananas, and yogurt.

Teco is a third-generation bonobo to be reared in a Pan/Homo (Pan paniscus/Homo sapiens) environment and is a portent for the future of ape language research, a 40-year body of work by Dr. Sue Savage-Rumbaugh.
